Hi All,
I have finally got round to making a standalone package for ProFound (v1.0.0). This is necessary for the new paper and reflects the relative complexity of the source finding and large number of associated functions (basically the ProFit package was getting a bit bloated). ProFit and ProFound both "suggest" the other, but importantly they do not "require" or "import" the other. Practically, this means people who do not want to use the profiling aspect of ProFit can now install ProFound much more easily since it users standard R packages and functions and does not require compilation (which can be a pain, especially if you do not have admin rights).
It is currently on GitHub at asgr/ProFound. You can install via:
library(devtools)
install_github('asgr/ProFound')
library(ProFound)
For a more general overview check:
rpubs.com/asgr/296848
There are now also a few worked vignettes for ProFound:
rpubs.com/asgr/
In the overview document (http://rpubs.com/asgr/296848) you can see the names of all of the functions in ProFound. Most of these replace the similarly named functions currently in ProFit (i.e. profoundMakeSegim replaces profitMakeSegim). A few will need to exist in both since they are core functions (profitMag2Mu and profoundMag2Mu etc). I will not delete the deprecated ProFit versions of functions quite yet (so as to not break any code you are currently using), but you should try to migrate across over the next few months. At some point down the line I will remove the older ProFit versions of these functions since these will not be maintained.
Cheers,
Aaron
